The modern world is almost entirely dependent on computers and smartphones. They are used in almost every field of work, and they do the job way better than what humans can manually do. Not only that, but they have also become important to us to carry out our day-to-day activities. Programming is the reason why these devices work the way they do. Programming is not only a highly valuable technical skill, but it can also help develop other important life skills as well.
Programming can simply be understood as the combination of the human mind and computers. It shouldn't be confused with "coding," which is just writing instructions to the computer in a specific
programming language. Programming is the process of planning, developing, and giving the computer a set of instructions to perform a specific task or solve a problem. To code, you only need to have basic knowledge of the syntax of the programming language. But to do programming, you need to know how to code along with coming up with algorithms, using flowcharts, planning how the software or app should run, and using many other tools so that they work properly.
So, why should we learn to code? Programming helps us develop many vital life skills, including problem- solving, logical thinking, and interpersonal skills. The programming solutions aren't written anywhere; they need to be developed by ourselves, which develops our problem-solving as well as logical skills. Most of the time, we will be programming with others in a team. So, it helps us develop soft skills like communication, teamwork, leadership, etc.
Programming is also a way to express our creativity. We can visualize our ideas through programming and create new and unique things. Each time we solve a programming problem ourselves, it also helps develop our creativity. It also assists us in adapting to the vast technology and comprehending how the various things on which we rely so heavily actually function. Moreover, programming can land you a very good job as well. As we are all reliant on computers now, the scope of computer programming is huge. While a computer degree can help you become a programmer, it isn't a must, and we can become good programmers without one as well. It also allows us to start our own businesses and work for ourselves.
Steve Jobs once said, "I think everyone should learn how to program a computer because it teaches you how to think." Programming has a ton of benefits. As computers become a greater part of our lives, learning to program will be very beneficial, and everybody should learn to program.
